About Freddy
Freddy Prinze Charming
The entertainer Freddy Prinze Charming emerged on the drag scene back in 2005 in Tucson, AZ. Since then he has performed all over the country, including Oklahoma, California, New Mexico and, of course, Arizona. Since 2009 he has won numerous titles and accolades, was the first king west of Texas to win a crown in a nationally recognised pageant and was a columnist for Dragtastic.com. Freddy was contributing writer for the popular 'Spotlight Today' online magazine and has contributed to the book 'Crown Me.'
Freddy's non-drag alter ego, JC, has spent almost as many years on stage as she has been alive, and utilises her knowledge of theatre and dramatics to add to her performances as Freddy. The illusion that is Freddy Prinze Charming is created by the use of makeup and binding techniques, as well as costuming.
Over the years, Freddy has performed in dozens of venues, and has helped raise thousands of dollars for various charities and organisations. As a performer this king is as comfortable eating fire and walking on stilts as he is singing live and dancing.
In 2008 he competed in the very first Mister USofA M.I. national pageant in Oklahoma City and in 2009 was a finalist in that same pageant, after winning the first Mister Arizona USofA M.I. crown. In 2012, he was awarded M.I. of the Year in the Arizona Drag Diamond Crystal Awards, as well as Outstanding Drag King in the Echo Readers Choice Awards, awards that are voted on by the community. He is also the host and show director of the popular Spotlight shows. Most recently he was featured in Huffington Post's '28 Drag Kings You Should Know.'
